Pressure Treated Split Rail Fence

Definitions
:

1. Fence Line – a section of fence with no gates.
2. Line Post – routed on opposite sides for connecting (2) fence panels in a straight line.
3. End Post – routed on just one side. It is used at the beginning and end of the fence with (1) panel attached. If you need a gate, you will also need an extra end post per single gate and 2 extra end posts per double gate.
4. Corner Post – routed on (2) adjacent sides to have (2) panels attach to them forming a corner.

Procedure
:

1. Draw proposed fence.
2. Identify end posts, corner posts, and gate locations.
3. Measure fence lines and gate locations.
4. Add up your fence line measurements and divide them by 10 then multiply by 3. This is the number of rails you will need.
5. Subtract the number of fence lines you need from the number of panels needed. This is how many line posts are needed.
6. Add the number of other posts and gates needed. For each single gate, add an extra end post.
7. Each single gate requires two lag screw hinges and one loop latch. Add those as-needed.
8. If you need a double gate, add two 3ft, two 4ft or two 5ft gates to the cart, along with 4 lag screw hinges, 1 loop latch, 1 drop rod and 2 end posts per double gate.
9. Combine the number of line posts, end posts and corner posts.
