Definitions :
- Fence line – a section of fence with no gates.
- End posts – post where fence line terminates and does not continue in another direction.
- Corner posts – where fence line terminates but continues in another direction.
- Gate end posts – a post used for gate that has a fence connection.
- Gate blank post – a post used for gate that does not have any fence connections.
Procedure :
- Draw proposed fence.
- Identify end posts, corner posts, and gate locations.
- Measure fence lines and gate locations.
- Add up your fence line measurements and divide them by 6. This is the number of panels you will need.
- Subtract the number of fence lines you need from the number of panels needed. This is how many line posts are needed.
- Add the number of other posts, gates and gate posts needed.
- Each gate requires one set of hinges and one latch. Add those as-needed.
- If you need a double gate, add either two 48″ or two 60″ gates to the cart, along with 2 hinges, 1 latch & 1 drop rod.
